We have now been informed that the application to provide additional pupil places at our school has been submitted to Cornwall Council Planning Department on Friday 11th December. It will take a couple of weeks for it to be registered.  At that point the application, along with all the associated documents, will be available to view on Cornwall Council’s Planning portal. Six of the main drawings are attached below for your interest.


All queries raised at the recent public consultation event were fed into the Transport Statement and Travel Plan, which is also available to view on the Planning portal along with the application.


The planning period is likely to extend to the end of March (2016). In anticipation of planning consent being granted, a few key events will occur during this time:

  • A main contractor will be appointed by the end of December, with subcontractors being appointed between February and March.
  •  Designs will be finalised.
  • A meeting will be held towards the end of January with the contractors and architects. We hope to be able to give out more information after this meeting.

If everything goes through, the actual build is due to start in late May with a view to all works being completed in time for 1st September 2017. We will, of course, keep you updated with the progress of this project all along the way.


I would like to remind you that, with the completion of the build to accommodate many more pupils, St. Agnes Academy will not become a much larger school overnight. We will continue to grow one (probably smallish) Reception class each year, giving us the opportunity to ensure our children continue to flourish as our school grows.
