St Agnes ACE Academy has an active PTA led by a group of enthusiastic parents. We raise money for the children by organising a wide range of exciting fundraising events for both the children and the parents of the Academy. Without this support, the school would be unable to provide many wonderful facilities and experiences for the children.
St Agnes PTA raised over £3800 in the 2015-16 school year and also received a £500 grant for sports kit from Pete Mitchell County Councillor.
Money was spent on coaches for 2 school trips per class, toys for the new reception classroom, Christmas presents for each class, music for the choir club, a coach for children to attend the music festival, numicoms maths software for the whole school, a netbook (for testing on the school’s network with a view to hopefully buying 15 more in the autumn), circus and squashbox workshops and shows, sports kit including (running vests, shorts, socks, football kit).
Dates for this term
Wednesday 14th September 9am – coffee morning in the school hall (or alternative venue in school) for new parents and anyone that is interested in helping with the PTA.
Monday 19th September 8pm St Agnes Hotel – AGM followed by an ordinary PTA meeting – all welcome. If you would like to stand for the roles of chair or vice chair please let us know.
Thursday 20th October Halloween Disco KS1 5pm, KS2 6:15pm. As the school hall will not be suitable this will be held at the scout hut. As it is not on the school site a responsible adult will need to be present for each child present. Each adult can look after more than one child - how many children you are happy to be responsible for is up to you. We will need to sign each child in against the name of an adult present. Future discos will be held in the school so this is only necessary for this disco.
A fundraising evening (possibly a cocktail night) is provisionally planned for Saturday 12th/19th November at the scout hut. Please help make this proposed event a really fun occasion and let us know if you have any suggestions or can help in any way (firstname.lastname@example.org).
For the past 2 years we have sold tea towels printed with drawings of the faces of all the children in the school. This year we plan to do similar, but with the drawing printed on large reusable shopping bags instead. Great for shopping/swimming/trips to the beach etc. Order forms will be sent out soon and children will draw their pictures in class before half term. The Christmas card sale will also go ahead again this year.
Gift Aid fundraising
St Agnes PTA is now registered with HMRC for gift aid. This means we can claim tax back on donations including the disco and film night payments and any direct donations. We cannot claim tax back on any money given in exchange for goods (eg a raffle or cake/uniform sale).
Now that we are registered with gift aid we will occasionally try to raise money via direct donations for specific items for the school. At the moment we are trying to raise £3000 to buy 15 new netbooks with a charging trolley to expand the I.T. experiences of the children in the school. £2000 has already been pledged. Donors and individual amounts will not be published – a record will be kept for HMRC purposes only.
If you would like to contribute towards this, please let us know by emailing email@example.com.
Help us raise money through Easyfundraising
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online - from your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be raising a free donation for St Agnes PTA through Easyfundraising? There are nearly 3,000 retailers including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline, Tesco's and Sainsbury's, who will donate a percentage of the amount you spend to St Agnes PTA to say thank you for shopping with them.
It's really simple, and doesn't cost you anything.
All you have to do is:
2. Sign up for free
3. Get shopping - your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to St Agnes PTA. It couldn't be easier!
In 2016 we are aiming to get 100 supporters signed up to getting donations for some of their online shopping. We are hoping to raise £450 in this way, which will be used in December to give a £50 ‘Classroom Christmas Present’ to each class to buy something the teacher and children need. Last year's money was spent on a whole range of things and Lego was particularly popular!
That's a donation of just £4.50 per supporter, achieved by putting part of your online spend through Easyfundraising. We hope you can help us reach this!
If you use facebook and have not already visited the St Agnes PTA page please do so as this is where we post up to date information about events (http://facebook.com/stagnespta).
We welcome new ideas and suggestions to make this year’s fundraising as fun and successful as possible. We have an email list of parents that are happy to help at PTA events – if you would like to be added to this email list please let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As a PTA our aim is to work together to support each other as parents as well as support the school. Please let us know if you would like to help or have any concerns. We are also collecting names and contact details of any parents who are willing to share their skills and knowledge with the school however limited the time you can give. You may have a specialist skill or want to give your enthusiasm? We are keen to hear from you. Please contact Rory Stableforth (email@example.com).
Thank you for reading and we wish your children all the best for the coming year - St Agnes PTA
